Federation of Aweil Communities in Canada (F.A.C.C)
Message of condolence:
On behalf of the Aweil people in Canada, we members of the Federation of Aweil Communities in Canada (F.A.C.C) wish to express our deepest condolences to Mrs
Nyandeng de Mabior, family and friends, Salva
Kiir
Mayardit, president of southern Sudan, the SPLM leadership, and all the Sudanese people for the untimely passing of our late hero and leader, Dr. John Garang. Death being what it is, has robbed us of our dear son and liberator. The sudden death of Dr. John Garang is a loss of immense proportion, not only to the southerners, but also to the entire Sudanese people. John Garang was a man whose life was dedicated to liberating the marginalized peoples of the Sudan. His quest for total freedom and dignity of the marginalized masses of the Sudan was realized when he signed the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA.) While he died prematurely, before delivering the car to its final destination, Dr. Garang left us; the southerners and all the marginalized masses, a proud and honorable people. For the first time, our right to Sudanese identity has been recognized as clearly spelt out in the CPA. Dr. John has done to us so much for a lot less: no words of mouth will ever describe our sense of loss and sadness as we bid him far well.
Whereas Dr. John is surely gone, the mission he began will not be betrayed. Our brothers in the SPLM/A, whose commitment to our cause requires no emphasis, will carry on with the mission. With that said, we, the Aweil people in Canada pledge to continue supporting the mission of SPLM/A under the leadership of Salva
Kiir
Mayardit. We encourage our new president, Salva
Kiir
Mayardit and the entire SPLM leadership to strive very hard to bring about the badly needed unity of the diverse peoples of the southern Sudan and to faithfully continue with the mission that will deliver us to the Promised Land. Bless be our nation. Thank you.
Yours Faithfully,
Ashuein
Achuil
Alor,
Chairman,
