F.A.C.C Congratulatory Message
28th Nov. 2006
Angelo Kon Duang (R) and Gabriel Ngong Ngong (L)
On behalf of the Aweil people in Canada and on my own behalf I would like to extent my greatest congratulation to the newly elected chairman of the Calgary SPLM Chapter, Mr. Angelo Kon Duang and his team. Calgarian's decision to elect Mr. Kon Duang as head of their Chapter was a wise one. Mr Kon Duang is a person of higher integrity; he is an individual who has continuously rejected clannish, tribal and regional politics. Angelo Kon Duang has not only been a great inspiration to many Aweil people in Canada, but he has also been a uniting figure in our umbrella organization: the Federation of Aweil Communities in Canada (F.A.C.C). His affords in trying to unite Aweil citizens under the banner of the F.A.C.C can not be emphasized; he has truly been such an instrumental individual during my previous and present F.A.C.C leadership. I am confident that Mr. Kon Duang will guide the SPLM Chapter in Calgary with vigor and competence. His nationalistic inclination will undeniably help him bring members of south Sudan community in Calgary together.
I would also like to register equal gratitude to the newly elected chairman of the Aweil Community Association in the United States, Mr. Gabriel Ngong Ngong and his entire executive. Having known him for years, there is no doubt in my mind that Mr. Ngong Ngong will provide the kind of leadership Aweil people in the United States deserve. Mr. Ngong Ngong has demonstrated, in many occasions that he has the ability, will and interest to serve his people, Aweil citizens in the United States should therefore rest assure that they have a competent and goal-oriented leader in the office. While congratulating him on the phone, Mr. Ngong confided to me his grand plans for the Aweil community in the US and elsewhere. I can not doubt, even the least that he will strive harder to accomplish such dreams for the Aweil citizens wherever they may be. Mr. Ngong Ngong took Aweil Community Association’s office from an equally competent leader, Mr. Riakriak Akok Garang. Mr. Riakriak has accomplished a great deal of work within the two years he was in the office. I am sure that Mr. Ngong Ngong and his team will work hand in hand with the former chairman, Mr. Riakriak Akok Garang in order to help them accomplish their goals.
Finally, I would like to assure the office of the Aweil Community Association in the US that the Federation of Aweil Communities in Canada will work collaboratively with you and other Aweil Communities around the world in furthering the aspirations and dreams of the Aweil citizens in the Diaspora and at Home. Thank you.
Yours Faithfully,
Mr. Ashuein Achuil Alor,
President,
Federation of Aweil Communities in Canada.
