Press Release: Aweil Community Association Inc.- USA Conference Resolution ,

Monday, January 15, 2007

Dear members of Aweil community in USA ,

The office of Aweil Community in USA would like to take this opportunity to firstly apologize for the lengthy time it has taken without briefing the general public on the outcome of the of elections held in Omaha, Nebraska. As you may well recall, our last elections were marred by differences in opinion which led to the delay in forming the office. We had to take the time between the elections and the time we wrote this press letter to try to resolve issues that arose during the elections.

I would also like to thank the members of Aweil community in USA for giving me and my executive team the opportunity to lead our great community. As we promised in Nebraska , we will deliver the kind of leadership you deserve. The only thing we need from all of you is cooperation, give us your support and we will never fail you in the process of guiding our community.

Although some people expressed reservations, the elections held in Nebraska were in accordance with the constitution of ACA- USA .  The election took place on November 25th 2006; however, the process of forming the office was delayed due to differences as I mentioned above.  I apologize for inconvenience the delay caused our members who attended the conference. I promise all of you that this will not happen again as we are currently working hard to resolve outstanding issues once and for all.

As I said earlier, the elections in Nebraska were marred by differences in opinion and so we convened an emergency meeting in Kansas City , Missouri on December 30th, 2006.  The intent of this emergency meeting was to try to resolve problems that arose during the Nebraska conference.  However, we could not resolve any issue because the number of representatives who attended the meeting in Missouri was less than the quorum required to make changes on such issues as composition of the office. Some people had indeed suggested that changes should be made in the composition of the office but it was deemed unconstitutional since the number of representatives presence in the meeting was less than 51% needed to make any resolution. In view of the above facts no resolution was made in Missouri emergency meeting.

The public is being informed that the Board of Coordination Office which was elected in Nebraska will carry on with the duties of the community until November 2007 when Aweil community will convene its 8th Annual Conference. The composition of the Board of Coordination Office that was elected in Omaha Nebraska during the 7th

Those who hold different opinion on the Nebraska elections are being urged to remain patience till November when they will have the opportunity to air their concerns out in presence of all Aweil people. They are also being asked to respect the decision Aweil people made in Nebraska by working cooperatively with the rest of the representatives in whatever positions they were assigned to hold in Nebraska .  Our team work is important for the progress of our people here in the United States and those at home. We can only make a difference if we work together as a team.

We are preparing to meet in April 2007 to review and draft recommended changes in the constitution of the Aweil Community Association in USA . We are currently making arrangements for this meeting and will notify you soon of the date, place and time of the meeting.  The draft of changes that we shall make on the constitution will be brought to the general assembly in November of 2007.  The aim of the April meeting is to correct flaws on our constitution that pertains to election process and financial matters.  The April meeting will also focus on establishing our goals and objectives for our two-year term.  In addition, it will as well provide a venue to discuss issues regarding the upcoming convention which will include, among other things, conference agenda, revenue and expenditure. This meeting is usually held in July but we decide move it to April in order to preserve July for Aweil Youth Association conference. All States representatives are being asked to start preparing for the April meeting.

Once again, I would like to thank you, on behalf of my executive team, for giving us this opportunity to lead you. We will do everything we can to fulfill our promises we made to you when you elected us to represent you.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding this information, or the upcoming meetings, please feel free to contact me. Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,
